Move a set of books in a single file.
Migrating to a clean database, splitting a company out of a multi-company instance, taking over a file from a colleague. Today that means SQL, a consultant, or giving up the history.
What it does
- Readable, auditable xlsx export at the date of your choice: chart of accounts, trial balance, open items, contacts
- An import that rebuilds everything into one single opening entry, in another database
- The entry stays in draft until you post it yourself
- Round-trip checked to the cent: export, import and re-export produce an identical file
- No SQL, no server access, no consultant
What it does not do
- The detailed history does not follow. You start out correct to the cent, but your past entries stay in the old database
- Attachments do not follow either
- It is not a merge tool. It moves one file, it does not reconcile two
