Anthracite IO

Move a set of books in a single file.

Free, and open source (LGPL-3)

What it does

  • Readable, auditable xlsx export: chart of accounts, trial balance, open items, contacts
  • An import that rebuilds everything into one single opening entry
  • The entry stays in draft until you post it yourself
  • Round-trip checked to the cent: export, import and re-export produce an identical file
  • No SQL, no server access, no consultant
  • It is also how you send us a snapshot of your accounts if BNB or Biztax gets stuck on your data

What it does not do

  • The detailed history does not follow. It rebuilds your balances into one opening entry: you start out correct to the cent, but your past entries stay in the old database. Keep it, or keep an export of it
  • Attachments do not follow either
  • The full list of what it leaves behind is explicit, in the documentation and in the file itself
  • It is not a merge tool. It moves one file, it does not reconcile two

And in every case: the module does not check your accounting. An accounting review remains essential before you file anything.

Who it is for

Integrators who want to deliver clean migrations, and any company splitting an activity out of a multi-company instance.
